American Theological Society

The American Theological Society was founded in 1912 and, with the exception of the pandemic year 2020, has met at least once each year in various locations on the East Coast, lately at Princeton Theological Seminary. Membership is by nomination and election, and is limited to 100 active members at any given time.

This site presents basic information about the society both for members and for the interested general public. The historical information reflects archives maintained since the founding of the society, and includes:

  • historical narratives,
  • list of members,
  • list of past presidents,
  • list of officers and executive committee members, and
  • annual meeting programs.
